Capfaces is a small shop in Prescott, Arizona. This page says what we collect, why, who it goes to, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to hello@capfaces.com.
Orders are placed by adults, 18 or older.
What we collect when you order
- Your name, your email and where to ship it, so we can send the order and tell you it is on the way. If you pick your order up from us instead, we take your billing details in place of where to ship it, so sales tax is worked out right.
- Your phone number, so the carrier can reach you about a delivery.
- If you check the box at checkout to hear from us, that you checked it. It puts you on our email list; every email has a link to leave.
- What you bought and how you built it.
- Your card details go straight to Stripe, who takes the payment. We never see or keep them.
What we collect when you join the list or save Capfaces
- Your email, the box you checked to say you are 18 or older and want our emails, and when you checked it.
- The Capfaces you saved: their face and colors, nothing else. Before you give us your email, your list stays in your browser. We do count how often each look is saved, as the look's face and colors alone, with no way to tell who saved it.
What we collect when you look around
- Which page was opened and which site or ad sent you there, so we know what people read and which ads work.
- Roughly where you are: the city, state and country your internet connection comes from, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer. Our own count never keeps your IP, and nothing finer than a city.
- That the page is still open: while it is on screen, the page tells us every 30 seconds, so we can see how many people are on the site right now and on which page.
- A random token your browser makes up, which changes. It is not tied to a name.
This count is our own. It runs on every page, including the homepage, the product pages and each Capface's own page, and none of it goes to an ad platform or to anyone else.
- One cookie that remembers what is in your cart, and one that remembers your privacy choices.
- If you arrived from an ad, the click id the ad platform put on the link (from Google, Meta, TikTok or Pinterest). We keep it for 90 days.
Ad and analytics cookies
We load Google Tag Manager on every page, and these cookies are on by default:
- Google Analytics, on every page, to count visits and see how people use the site.
- Microsoft Clarity, to see where people click and how far they scroll, as heatmaps and replays of a visit. It hides all the text on the page and everything typed, and it does not load on order, review, sign-in or other private links.
- Ad measurement from Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Pinterest, on every page. It shows which ads lead to visits and orders and helps show our ads to people who might like them.
These services may set their own cookies and receive your IP and browser details. You can switch either kind off at any time (see below).
What our server reports to ad platforms
When someone opens a product or a Capface's page, adds something to the cart, starts checkout, places an order or enters the giveaway, our server tells the ad platforms it happened: what it was (the product, the checkout or order number, the total), the ad click id and the platform's own cookie, your IP and browser details, and, once you have given them, your email, phone number, name, city, state, zip code and country, each scrambled into a one-way code first (hashed) so it is never sent as written. Your street is never sent. This is how an ad platform matches a visit or an order to the ad it came from. If you switched off sales, sharing and targeted advertising, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we do not send any of it. If you switched off analytics, Google Analytics does not get it either, and Clarity does not run.
Your privacy choices (opting out)
Use "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of any page. It has two switches, Sales, sharing and targeted advertising, and Analytics, both on until you switch them off. Some states call using cookies for ads a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or "targeted advertising"; the first switch turns all of that off. We remember your choice for a year, in this browser on this device, so set it again on each browser and device you use. You can also email hello@capfaces.com to opt out of any sharing for ads, clear this site's cookies in your browser, or opt out with each platform: Google's Ad Settings, Meta's ad preferences, TikTok's ad settings and Pinterest's privacy settings.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sales, sharing and targeted advertising, whatever the switches say. It works per browser and device, like the switches.
Children's privacy
Capfaces are rated for ages 8 and up, and orders are placed by adults, 18 or older. Our ads are aimed at adults, and we never target an ad at a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us some, email us and we will delete it.
Who else sees it
Only the services it takes to run the shop and measure it:
- Stripe, for payments and sales tax.
- Shippo, for shipping labels.
- Brevo, for every email we send: orders and shipping, the mailing list, and reminders about a cart you left.
- Supabase, Railway and Vercel, which host the site and its data.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics and Ads), Microsoft Clarity, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest, only as described above.
We do not sell your information for money.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as the law needs them for tax and accounting. Ad click ids are kept for 90 days in your browser and with the order they led to. Page counts are kept without anything that identifies you, and who is on the site right now is cleared after two days.
What you can ask for
Email hello@capfaces.com to see what we hold about you, to fix it, to have it deleted, or to opt out of any sharing for ads. We will keep only what the law says we must.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
